BASS PLAYER WANTED! Yukon Women in Music (YWIM) is holding a 3 hour workshop plus a concluding evening concert on Saturday, Mar 24, focusing on Performance skills – Plugged in. The workshop will involve working with beginner and developing musicians on songs they have charted and prepared. The small evening concert will allow participants to put into practice what they have learned.
The bass player who is hired must be able to read a chart and work well with people who are learning to perform with bands. You will work with 2 instructors, a drummer, and a guitar player to support the participant. A sound system will be set up and there will be sound tech mentorships occurring throughout this class and the concert with students learning how to do sound.
The Participants will be learning:
· How to count in the song
· How to lead a band
· Mic technique
· Interaction with sound techs
· Performance skills.
The workshop and concert pay $300/band member and includes breaks. The timeline is TBA, but everything will be over by 10 PM if you have another gig. A sound system will be set up and there will be techies also learning how to do sound for both workshop and concert.
